Pismo Beach 2012- Day 4

This was out last day in Pismo.  We went for a drive about an hour up north after breakfast to go see the Elephant Seals that are on the shore.  There were hundreds, mostly females and babies at this time of year.  This animals are giant and so neat to watch.  They are about 4 miles from Hearst Castle.
After we got back into Pismo walked to go see the Monarch Butterflies just up the street from the campground.  We had a surprise visit from Tabby and her new fiance Brant who just so happened to be in Santa Barbara for the weekend.  We chatted with them before our potluck dinner with our Pismo camping buddies.  I have failed to mention that we were with a BIG group of campers on this trip.   This was our 3rd year camping with these people and they could not be nicer camping buddies.  Throughout our stay we would sit around the campfire with them, watch the playoff games, share appetizers, and on the last night we have a potluck dinner.  This year was burgers and hot dogs with lots of yummy sides and desserts.  We watched our last sunset just before dinner then after dinner we packed up and we headed home.  Till next year Pismo Beach, oh how I love you

That is a male Elephant Seal in the middle with it's mouth open wide
That little baby seal looks like it is looking straight at me
Mommy and baby

Another male, coming up from the ocean
Jill, Matt, Mikaela, me, Addison and Bill

Addison loved them

Love her little tongue

Those are all butterflies, not leaves

So neat to catch the one flying
Looking at them
One was on the ground.
Love her little hands behind her back looking through the telescope

I took this picture from my phone looking into the telescope

Wish this was not washed out from the sun

Our Bodie

Heading home
